Villa O Sonho stands for sustainability and being environmentally aware. Here is how our utility facilities work:
Electricity
At Villa O Sonho, we try to use energy as sparingly as possible. That means the whole building is fitted with low-energy light bulbs and timers.
In addition, we heat the flats with wood-burning stoves. If you want to use these, make sure you only use wood from cork oak trees and eucalyptus. You can also choose to use briquettes. These are available at supermarkets and DIY stores. Firing pine wood in any form is prohibited. This is because this wood puts a sticky layer on the inside of the chimney, which can lead to chimney fires. Make sure all fires are out when you leave the premises.
We want to be as environmentally conscious with energy as possible so that future generations can still enjoy this globe. Therefore, be aware of your consumption. Do not leave lamps, electric heaters or other equipment on unnecessarily. Be aware of your consumption.
Water supply
All the water in the building comes from our own wells and is filtered by several filters before it goes into the building. This is maintained and replenished manually on a daily basis. You can use the water for cooking and boiling thee and making coffee. But drinking it pure might be not advisable if you are not used to it.
There are toilets throughout the building with economy buttons. If you have done a small errand, try to use only the small flush button. In this way, you are helping to improve the environment.
All shower heads in the building are water-saving shower heads. This way, we try to waste as little water as possible, since summers can be hot and the plants can use some water then too.
Sewer supply
Villa O Sonho is located in a rural area of Alpiarça. This means that it is not possible to be connected to the city sewer system. For this reason, Villa O Sonho uses septic tanks. It is an environmentally conscious solution that focuses on sustainability. As a result, it is not allowed to flush Toilet Paper or other materials down the toilet. Use a bin to disposal this. When you do flush it true the toilet, there is a high chance of causing blockages in the sewer. Also, the septic tank cannot be emptied anymore. In case you are not used to this handling, believe us, you will get used to it in time. In addition, you will gain insight into how much toilet paper is normally just flushed down the toilet. There will be more awareness.
Since Villa O Sonho exits out of several apartments, it is necessary to apply some rules in order to have a pleasant stay for you and the other guests. Thereby, by staying at Villa O Sonho it also means you agree to the following house rules:
General
When you move into one of the flats they are neat, clean and fresh waiting for you. Everything is functioning and there are no defects. When you leave the apartment, it should be handed over in the same way. This means that all crockery and cutlery is neatly, clean and tidy and that all rooms, furniture and accessories, are neat and complete as you found them when you arrived.
The apartments are suitable for a maximum occupancy of 4 people. It is therefore not permitted for more than 4 people to stay.
You can use the open community areas inside the building for having a chat or to do some digital work in the lounge. You can sit on the available furniture and use the center table with chairs. You can chill in the walled community garden during your stay. If you want to use the lounge beds, make sure you always put a towel on it for hygiëne reasons.
Visitors
If you wish to receive guests, you must inform the host in advance. The host has to know who is staying on the property at all time to guarantee safety for all guests. There are several surveillance camera’s aroud the building to maintain your security.
Check in and check out
Check-in
In principle, check-in takes place from 15:00. A different time can be arranged in consultation with the host. Check-in should preferably take place before 18:00, although an extension until 21:00 is possible.
In any case, please let us know at least one day before your arrival when you expect to arrive and call your host 30 minutes before your arrival. This way, someone will definitely be present, and you will not have to wait unnecessarily. You can also come earlier to drop off your luggage and collect the key. If payment is received before your arrival, you can also check in yourself. Ask about the possibilities during or after your booking.
Check-out
Check-out is between 7:00 and 11:00 on the day of departure.
Deposit
A deposit applies to every space rented within Villa O Sonho. The amount of this deposit will be communicated prior to the reservation. After check-out, the rented space will be inspected. If the rented space is in the same condition as you found it at the start of the rental period, 100% of the deposit will be refunded to your bank account. This will be done no later than 1 week after check-out.
Key management
Upon arrival, your host will provide you with a key for your stay. You are responsible for locking the doors to your accommodation and turning off lights, fans, heaters and any other electric equipments. Return the key personally to your host when you check out, unless otherwise agreed.
Loss of key
If a key is lost, inform the host as soon as possible. Villa O Sonho will charge € 200,- for renewal of the locks and keys.
Bed linen and towels
For longer stays at Villa O Sonho (min. 1 month), guests bring their own bed linen, bath linen and kitchen linen. For the protection of the mattresses, there will be mattress covers provided. Long stay guests take care of washing them in time.
Cleaning
For short stays, towels and bed linen are included unless other arrangements have been made.
For longer stays, reducted prices apply. This means that we expect you to maintain and regular clean the apartment yourself (or by a hired professional cleaner on your own risk) as if it is your own. This contains cleaning of the (bath) rooms, toilets, floors and windows if necessary. We advice you to use natural products like cleaning vinigar. For cleaning the windows, just use water.
Hygiene guarantee
It is not allowed to sleep on the beds in the rooms without sheets and pillowcases. There is a matras protector on every bed, this can never be removed.
Should there be any non-removable stains in the mattress, duvet, bedspread and decorative pillows or towels during your stay, Villa O Sonho will charge the client for the cleaning costs incurred and/or the cost of replacing the materials.
Parking
You can park your car in the designated spaces on the premises. If the parking space is full, the host or hostess will direct you to another space in the courtyard. Parking is only allowed for the duration of your stay at Villa O Sonho. There are surveillance cameras outside but parking on the grounds of Villa O Sonho is always at your own risk. Villa O Sonho is not liable for theft and/or damage of any kind.
Sound
Villa O Sonho asks its guests not to be too loud in the rented accommodation and in the general areas. All music – and any other kind of noise – must be played at room volume so as not to disturb other guests and neighbors, and is prohibited from 11pm to 7am. We especially ask guests to be mindful of noise disturbance on the outdoor terraces.
Litter
Please dispose of rubbish in the bins provided or in the big green containers at the entrance.
Pets
Pets are not allowed in Villa O Sonho. If there is made an exception, please make sure the apartment stays cleans and fresh, all the furniture without damage. This will be checked when you check out.
Smoking
At Villa O Sonho smoking is prohibited in all accommodation and general areas. By arrangement, you may smoke on the terrace provided that others are not disturbed and safety is not compromised. The doors and windows of the accommodation must be closed while smoking. The terrace must remain smoke-free. We recommend extinguishing cigarette butts in a bowl of water.
Alcohol and (soft) drugs
Alcohol abuse is prohibited, so enjoy, but drink in moderation. At Villa O Sonho it is strictly forbidden to possess, consume and/or deal in drugs. The police will always be involved.
Disturbances and complaints from other guests
We expect all guests to be considerate of each other. Should there be any complaints, please report them to the host. Should other guests complain, the host will discuss this with the accused. If you do not abide by the rules, the host has the right to break the agreement and the guest must leave the premises without any refunds.
Damage
Villa O Sonho is in no way liable for any form of damage, loss or theft that you have or experience during your stay at Villa O Sonho.
If any damage occurs to the accommodation or its facilities during your stay, you must inform the host.
WIFI Internet
There is no wifi internet at Villa O Sonho unless other agreed.
In the unlikely event that services such as Wifi does not work or does not work properly during the stay at Villa O Sonho, this does not entitle the client to a refund of all or part of the room rate due. Since the venue is in a rural area.
Villa O Sonho sometimes offers a WIFI guest network.
The user refrains from visiting Internet sites that are illegal or incompatible with Villa O Sonho’s reputation as an accommodation provider. In case of detection or suspicion of harassment of third parties and/or (other) Internet abuse by the user, Villa O Sonho has the right to block access to the Internet without further notice or to refrain from doing so altogether.
Prices
Short stay prices, include electricity, bed linen, bath linen and kitchen linen. Free use of WIFI and free on-site parking at Villa O Sonho.
Mid-term stay or longer, other prices and services apply as agreed with the host.
